Receiving Craftsman skills and knowledge from his father and grandfather he started his own style of instrument making at the end of the nineties.

No more than 50 to 60 handmade guitars are made every year in Ritter's old atelier.
This aged winery - build in the 17th century - serves a perfect ambience for his passion of instrument making.

For the last years musicians of stars like Madonna, Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera have been appreciating Ritter's instruments for their incomparable sound and playability.

But Jens went further. He transcended the guitar from a simple instrument to a new level of being.

The guitar, previously even beaten up and destroyed on stage, is no more just an ordinary tool merely for musicians.

It is now becoming respected and recognized as a prestigious symbol of the cultural development of the last decades.

The modern guitar is an avantgard statement of music history and is more and more seen as a piece of contemporary art. Jens Ritter,the instrument maker and winner of the RLP Design Price, is a glaring example of this new vision.

One of his guitars has recently been purchased by the German LTA Museum for their permanent collection.

Today his luxury instruments are owned by musicians and collectors all over the world and Jens Ritter is nowadays known as
